Fasting for the Glory of God (Matthew 6:16-18 - Sermon on the Mount Series)
Переглядів 164Місяць тому
Today, we're diving into a topic that is both challenging and deeply rewarding: spiritual fasting. Fasting is a powerful reminder that our ultimate need is for Christ and Christ alone. Jesus Himself fasted, and He called His followers to do the same, inviting us into a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him. The heart of fasting is to create a longing for the fullness and presence of Jesus...
The Proper Pattern for Prayer: The Lord's Prayer (Sermon on the Mount Series - Matthew 6:5-15)
Переглядів 3062 місяці тому
The Lord's prayer is a pattern of prayer that is beneficial for all those in Christ to use. The first three requests have to do with God's glory, and the last three requests are for our good. Our eyes are on God first, and then our eyes are on us. It is the perfect pattern to use in our private and public prayer lives. The Lord's Prayer 5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites....

Mary’s obedience and heart of a servant have a lasting effect on us. As Christian homemakers, our homes are not merely spaces filled with chores; they are sanctuaries where faith is nurtured, trust is built, and God’s plan unfolds. May Mary’s example inspire us to embrace our roles with humility, trust, and obedience, transforming our homes into beacons of God’s love and grace. Just as Mary dec...

How Should We Give (Matthew 6:1-4 - Sermon on the Mount Series)

When we grasp our relationship with God as our Father and rest securely in His care and love, it will change what we do and why we do it. We will not be looking for the approval of men but only of God, and there is where we receive the greatest reward that isn't lost because it is done out of love for our Father in Heaven, and He has seen it, and He will reward us. to give another example for context purposes, another reason why I might be called a crunchy mom is because I was so terrified of being paralyzed from an epidural and didn’t have enough faith to believe that God wouldn’t allow me to be paralyzed for some purpose that I desperately tried to avoid getting an epidural and it ended up getting it due to the pain from Pitocin and breaking my water and all these things that I truly didn’t want done because I believed it needed to be done naturally and then after epidural my babies blood pressure dropped so low I had to go for an emergency C-section but if I end up blessed with another baby, I will still try to have v-bac As I still feel guilty for when I got the epidural before, sometimes I truly believe that the reason why I had to have the emergency C-section was because I got the epidural because it wasn’t until I got the epidural which I did not have the faith to get but did it under pressure (similar to a child being peer pressured into doing something that is wrong) after I got the epidural, the blood pressure dropped and I had togo in for C-section. it does kind of feel like it was discipline. So for those that have the faith to do those things they won’t be disciplined, but to the ones that weren’t given the faith to do certain things they shouldn’t do them because anything that is not done from faith is sin and the people of God, true children of God will be disciplined.

so don’t pressure other children of God or shame them into thinking that they need to get over it and just eat the meat that might be sacrificed to idols

i’m a new mamma and homemaker and i’m so thankful for the encouragement i have found online for it barely exist in or around my church. But I do need to say because I feel like I can here, that’s ironically the beauty of online communication. I was not around during the time era of this crunchy silky nonsense that has clearly invaded the church, I likely wasn’t saved yet and didn’t know any mammas or ones that were taking it that seriously at least. However since becoming a mom I keep coming across other moms in the church who where using this word “crunchy” kind of in an offensive way, the first time I heard it i thought the girl meant cringy and maybe it was just because she was slightly older than me, but then another mom said it a different time in this new church group in the same sort of offensive manner yet she was using it to describe church people that offended her previously. So I looked it up and saw what it meant and quite frankly it’s really rude, how would you like to be called “crunchy”. Paul states in first corinthians that we shouldn’t cause offense to anyone. (obviously in some cases like Jesus with the pharisees it’s good to cause offense) But “crunchy” might as well say ew cringy moms and roll your eyes aren’t necessarily bad a lot of why most of them are the way they are is because of the deep love they have for their family, their children and their husbands in their bodies and they might not have the faith that these silky moms do to be able to use and consume all the things people of the world use, however, you don’t need to offend them or criticize them or look down on them because they have less faith than you just like the people in first Corinthians who couldn’t eat the meat that was sacrifice to idols. Paul could eat it, but he said he would never eat meat again to offend or hurt the faith and conscious of another believer. Truly, this has hurt my faith why are women so mean and hateful? Why are they offended and jealous when other women desire to do things differently than them? I guess if I breast-feed, I’m crunchy to half of the women in the church, that just doesn’t feel right and I don’t think that is right. I mean, how far does it go different things that trigger them into rolling their eyes at another woman and calling them crunchy. by the way, I love swifter sweepers and I use Clorox bleach.

How do you justify staying home and being a homemaker? When is it religiously ok for women to work? I have been a stay at home wife mother and grandmother for 30+ years and have always struggled with this. We dont have a lot of money but enough to keep us going. Sometimes I feel Like my roll should be to work or Contribute and take some of the burden off my husband 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is an area you and your husband need to with the Lord and together. I'm going to share a video link below that I think may be a help to you to walk through the importance of being a homemaker biblically. But I appreciate these questions for us to think about before we do determine to work outside the home: What are my reasons for considering this opportunity? Are they selfish or God-honoring? - Will pursuing this venture glorify God and honor the gospel? - Is this an undertaking that will help my husband? - Will it enhance and enrich the lives of my family? - Does this endeavor hinder my role as caretaker of my home? This quote from John MacArthur is helpful too (take in that last sentence): “The home is where a woman provides the expressions of love for her husband and her children. The home is where she leads and guides and teaches and raises the godly generation. The home is where she is protected and secured from other men and potentially wicked relationships and abuses. The home is where she lodges strangers, washes saints’ feet, shows hospitality and devotes herself to every good work. That’s her sphere. And whatever of that home and whatever of the goodness of her life she can take outside and not sacrifice the home is between her and the Lord and her husband.” Homemaking Matters: A Good God Working Out His Purposes in the Midst of Our Ordinary Days - ua-cam.com/video/GudoIJz46O4/v-deo.htmlsi=Me3UuBvF1JvGboAQ

I am 65, a homemaker, wife, mother, mother in law, homesteader, business woman (out of necessity), and I have ministry. I have always and do now view my first ministry as homemaker. I stay frustrated that I have to work because my heart is in my home caring for my husband and now my son and daughter in law who also live on our homestead in their own cottage. Homemaking never ends even when you're all older woman. This job is extremely important not only to the welfare of our family members but to ourselves as well. I am most joyful working in my own home than any other job. I want to encourage young women to know that I feel the most purposeful homemaking then winning even a national award for my work (and I have). Those things come and go as people come and go but serving my family is my greatest reward. As a young woman of the 70s, I was told that I needed to "find myself" and "be someone of significance". This referred to working outside of the home. This lie robbed me of my joy as homemaker. The stress put on me to achieve in the work force always made me feel like I had on the wrong sized shoes. It was awkward and it never fit. When the Lord helped me to realize the truth and beauty of this calling as homemaker, my joy and purpose returned. I still have to work as even with all those years working, I have no retirement from any of it. I am always going back to the word of God or places like this channel to be encouraged and reminded because even at my age, it is not respected in my church community to be a homemaker. I'm an oddity. I love my sanctuary of home and the joy and fulfillment I receive in doing this ministry. Be encouraged that you will be rewarded in ways you could not have imagined. It's a beautiful design of our Father.
